Fairtrade Flowers

Fairtrade certified flowers are grown on selected farms in developing countries that have been certified to international Fairtrade standards. The FAIRTRADE Mark on flowers guarantees that the flowers farm workers in the developing world benefit from labour and environmental standards plus the additional Fairtrade Premium to invest in community development projects such as literacy programmes, healthcare initiatives, and building community facilities.

Interflora support Fairtrade and so has developed an entire Fairtrade flower range to ensure that you can also express your support through the gifts that you send. All the flowers in these bouquets are supplied from selected farms which are certified to international Fairtrade standards. The Fairtrade flowers within this range have been sourced from Kenya, with some of the profits being used to develop many community-based projects, including a donation of blankets to the Thogoto Home for the Aged, the supply of a bicycle or sewing machine for every employee and the donation of desks to Primary Schools.

Many more projects designed to help the community are in the pipeline, including support in terms of equipment and food donations to Nderi AIDS Orphans Home and the creation of a day-care centre for the children of the farms employees.
