Breast Cancer Care
We are proud to support the campaign for Breast Cancer Care
About Breast Cancer Care
Breast Cancer Care is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. We bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. We use our understanding of people's experience of breast cancer and our clinical expertise in everything we do. All our services are free.
In September 2005 Interflora became a corporate partner of Breast Cancer Care. Interflora receives many requests from individual charities, but it makes more sense to fully support just one and raise as much money as possible for that charity. In 2005 we committed to raise a minimum of £100,000 per year for three years for Breast Cancer Care. Since launching our partnership we have raised over £650,000.
Much of this success has been generated through the fantastic response to the product we launched on behalf of Breast Cancer Care in October 2005 - our pink Rose and Lily Hand-tied, initially 10% of all sales of this product went straight to Breast Cancer Care. We have now increased our donation to 15% of all sales of this bouquet.
Many Interflora florist shops support our partnership by displaying a Breast Cancer Care vinyl in their window and participating in ad hoc events.
Traditionally Breast Cancer Care have celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) with their special one day event 'In the Pink'. In recent years, Breast Cancer Care extended their celebrations to introduce 'Pink Fridays', providing extra opportunities to raise awareness every Friday throughout October. We also run our ever popular Window Dressing Competition for Members during October and Interflora head office celebrate with fundraising activities and events taking place during the month.
We also operate an online charity flower shop, flowers.breastcancercare.org.uk, with 15% of all purchases on this website going straight to Breast Cancer Care. We will continue working closely with them to maximise sales and generate much needed funds so the charity can continue to provide dedicated support and information to people affected by breast cancer.
