          FAQs about peonies

          Peonies usually arrive late April until early July, and flowering gets going just as spring shifts into summer – mid May to late June. Blink and you’ll miss them.

          We start taking orders for peonies on 20th April and we start delivering on the 5th May, finishing up at the end of June. These are a seriously popular bloom so don’t hang about if you want to nab some!

          Yes! You should see the option to Click & Collect when you order. Hooray to saving on delivery.

          A few reasons. Number one has to be because they’re just bloomin’ gorgeous (if you’ll allow us the pun.) Their big fluffy petals are incredibly dramatic making their beauty almost unmatched in the world of flowers. The second reason must be because they’re just not around for very long. They’re in season for a few short months, and we just love what we can’t have. And third, they often smell HEAVENLY. Some smell a touch spicy, other citrusy, other super sweet. It really is the bloom that has it all.

          Short answer: whenever they’re in season! Peonies symbolise a variety of things, from good fortune and prosperity to romance and healing, making them well suited for all sorts of occasions. We like tailoring the kind of the bouquet to the moment, for instance a Beautifully Simple Peony bouquet is a real celebration of the iconic bloom, making it great for parties, centrepieces or birthdays. Whereas the Summer Peonies bouquet is likely to be dreamier and more relaxed, making it ideal for treating yourself or sending some flowers just because.
